Fellowship

Behold, how good and pleasant it is when brothers dwell in unity! It is like the precious oil on the head, running down on the beard, on the beard of Aaron, running down on the collar of his robes! It is like the dew of Hermon, which falls on the mountains of Zion! For there the Lord has commanded the blessing, life forevermore.”  ~

Psalms 133:1-3

Establishing fellowship among parishioners is important to us.  We like to think that every occurrence is an opportunity to share Christlike love with one another be it at a seasonal meal, a coffee hour, a book discussion or other such event.

St. Mary’s extends its warmth to both parish members and community residents during times of difficulty. St. Mary’s took the lead during the destruction that took place after Hurricane Isabel by offering the use of the Parish Hall as a shelter. After the Virginia Tech shooting occurred, we invited the community, people from all denominations, to join us in an afternoon prayer service. When a local business man died in a tragic accident, the grounds of St. Mary’s were lit with candles from town folks who might not have otherwise thought to pray.
