Prayer Shawl Ministry

“Shawls…made for centuries universal and embracing,

symbolic of an inclusive, unconditionally  loving, God.

They wrap, enfold, comfort, cover, give solace

Mother, hug, shelter and beautify.

Those who have received these shawls have been

Uplifted and affirmed, as if given wings to

Fly above their troubles…”

Written in 1998 by: Janet Severi Bristow

The mission of the prayer shawl ministry is to bring hope, comfort, and healing to those in need and to remind them of God’s enveloping love through the work of our hands and the prayers knit or crocheted into every stitch.

The Prayer Shawl Ministry meets on Thursday mornings at 10:am in the Parish Hall to knit or crochet the shawls that are stitched in prayer and shared among parishioners, strangers, nursing homes and hospitality centers for cancer patients and their families.
